I am a tech operator + product leader + creative builder committed to designing, launching, and scaling products and services that address meaningful problems that I’m passionate about such as women’s issues, healthcare, financial access, and environmental protection.

Pursuing my passions for women’s rights, social impact, and technology, I co-founded Flare in 2016 (acquired in 2023) with the vision of helping keep people safe. I met my co-founder at Harvard Business School and we immediately bonded over our own experiences with safety and assault. At that time I became very passionate about finding ways to use technology to solve problems that women are experiencing, but are often overlooked. This led to the creation of Flare, an innovative personal safety communication system and the future of personal security. I served as both the CEO & CPO, building a digital and physical product that users adored and filled an urgent unmet need in the market (and experienced viral growth).

I love adventure, exploration, and the feeling of freedom that I get from visiting and working in far corners of the world and nature. Through my personal travel and work at the World Bank, I have seen the impact that oppression and safety have on women’s quality of life all around the globe (including my own). And have experienced first hand the flaws of our health care system, especially when it comes to women’s health. I am passionate about supporting women (and everyone) in living the lives that they want free of threats to their safety, health, or personal agency - where they can explore freely, be ambitious, and live the lives they choose. That passion drove me become an entrepreneur and tireless operator at Flare, solving challenges big and small.

I thrive in high stakes roles where my keen ability to identify hidden opportunities, define novel solutions, and apply operational prowess leads to taking calculated risks that drive significant impact on critical areas of the business. I’m a smart risk taker in both my personal and professional life.

Before founding Flare, I worked as an investor at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank) investing in large mining projects in some of the world’s poorest and riskiest climates in Africa and Latin America. The purpose of our investments were multi-faceted: to make a financial return while also demonstrating successful foreign investment in the country and having the mine build the local and national economy through employment, procurement, tax revenue, and sustainable operations. I spent time on mining sites all around the world evaluating projects and management teams for investment alongside some amazing geologists, mining engineers, social and environment specialists. Taking helicopters to the top of mountains, riding horseback to see mineral outcroppings, camping at prospective mine sites, and discussing projects with local government officials were a regular part of the job. I loved being among the elements and getting to know places so intimately.

I got my start on Wall Street where I learned finance on the job and how to work smart, fast, and through what felt like never ending days. I supported M&A, debt, and equity financings for large corporations in the general industrials sector: from companies making bar code scanners to automotive safety systems. I learned how large companies make all kinds of things that are essential to our every day life (and to which we are generally oblivious). I gained an appreciation for the elegance and efficiency of industrial engineering, operations, and manufacturing. I developed valuation analysis, built financial models, and prepared offering memoranda like a machine. This role wasn’t inline with my passion for working on societal change, but it did set me up with some of the deeper operational skills and financial antenna that I still leverage to help companies grow.

But when I’m not working, you can find me exploring, learning, and building beautiful things with my mind and with my hands.
